1965 Pontiac GTO

“The GTO offers performance with a capital P. Not only did it have gobs of brute horsepower, but it looked well built and had a luxurious, comfortable, all-vinyl interior. In addition, it rode and handled as a high-performance car should. Everything about the GTO had that just-right feeling.”— Motor Trend

The GTO Legacy Can Be Yours

When Pontiac engineers dropped a 389ci engine into a mid-size LeMans coupe in 1964 and rolled out the high-horsepower GTO, they had no idea that it would create—literally overnight—the entire muscle-car generation. So to celebrate the timeless legacy of the GTO, Dream Giveaway is giving away a concours-restored GTO from the marque’s hey day.

An Ultra-Rare Pontiac Motor Division Zone Office Car

Pontiac Motor Division and its Portland Zone office special-ordered this 1965 GTO for internal use. It could have been a factory show car, an autoshow car, a Pontiac executive’s personal driver, or a specially built GTO to loan to journalists for news stories. With information not readily available to the general public, the Pontiac Motor Division Zone office knew all the right options to check off on this extremely special, special-ordered muscle car. They ordered high-performance options like Pontiac’s legendary Tri-Power 389ci engine, a Muncie four-speed transmission, transistorized ignition, metallic brake linings and a Positraction rear end. And in true muscle car tradition, the Pontiac Motor Division Zone office purposefully withheld power-robbing accessories like power steering and brakes from this corporate-ordered GTO. It is estimated that Pontiac built less than 200 1965 GTOs for corporate use. That makes this grand-prize 1965 GTO one of the rarest GTOs on earth … and one of the most collectible, too!
