ENTER TO WIN THE ONLY 1965 GT350CR EXPERIMENTAL MUSCLE CAR IN THE WORLD
“[The 1965 Shelby G.T. 350CR] is a maniac, this thing. Someone else’s cost-no-object dream come to fruition. It’s heaps of bad-ass with shaved drip-rails and endless details. The more you look, the more you notice.” — Road and Track
IF ONLY THEY MADE ’65 SHELBY MUSTANGS AGAIN
Mustang fans, rejoice. How many times have you asked yourself, “When will they make a brand-new 1965 Shelby?”
Only 562 Shelby G.T. 350s were produced in a rushed seven-month sojourn that started in late December 1964 and wrapped up on July 9, 1965. That left a slim seven months for a few lucky guys—most on a first-name basis with Ford/Shelby performance dealers or members of the Sport Club Association of America (SCCA)—to get their requests for a new Shelby G.T. 350 into the order bank. The 1965 Shelby G.T. 350 was pricy. In fact, the now-legendary street-package option brought the Mustang’s suggested retail price to an astronomical $4,547. That’s more than double the delivery price of a base 1965 Mustang.
Thanks to a licensing agreement with Carroll Shelby’s Shelby United, the continuation-series 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350CR is now being produced in extremely limited numbers. If you want to order one, get ready to pony up $150,000 or more and join a long waiting list of two years or more for anxious buyers.
